Our Story
70+ years of family recipe. Two locations. One mission: make the best donut you've ever had.
It Started with Grandma May
Some things are worth keeping exactly the way they are.
Grandma May's Kitchen
Ora Mae May — Grandma May — started making donuts in her home kitchen over 70 years ago. Hand-cut, kettle-fried, glazed with care. The recipe was simple, but the result was anything but. Neighbors knew. Family knew. Everyone who tasted them knew.
Passed Down, Never Written Down
The recipe traveled through generations — not in a cookbook, but through hands. The feel of the dough. The temperature of the oil. The exact moment to flip. Some things can't be taught with words. They have to be felt.
From Family Gatherings to the Neighborhood
For decades, these donuts were the centerpiece of every family event, every neighborhood potluck, every Saturday morning. People kept saying the same thing: "You need to sell these." Eventually, the family listened.
Spudly Donuts Opens
The first Spudly Donuts location opened its doors, bringing Grandma May's recipe to the public for the first time. Same recipe. Same technique. Same love. Just a bigger kitchen and an octagonal box that turns heads.
Two Locations, One Family
With shops in both Lehi and Lindon, Utah, Spudly Donuts serves hundreds of fresh donuts every morning. The recipe hasn't changed. The commitment hasn't changed. Grandma May would be proud.
The Faces Behind the Donuts
Why an Octagon?
Because rectangles are boring. Our signature octagonal box isn't just different for the sake of being different — it's a reflection of who we are. We don't cut corners (well, we cut eight of them).
The octagon has become our calling card. When you walk into a meeting with a red octagonal box, people know exactly what's inside. And they know it's going to be good.
Simple Principles
Handmade, Always
No machines mass-producing our donuts. Every single one is hand-cut and kettle-fried by real people who care about what they're making.
Fresh, Not Frozen
We don't do day-old donuts. We don't freeze dough. Everything is made fresh every single morning before we open the doors.
Community First
We're not a chain. We're your neighbors in Lehi and Lindon. We sponsor local events, cater community gatherings, and show up for our people.
Order on Toast
Skip the line. Order ahead for pickup at either location. Fresh donuts, zero wait.
